Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and hook-and-chain models, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Conduct vehicle diagnostics and basic automotive repairs when necessary to prepare vehicles for towing or roadside assistance.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring proper securing methods to prevent damage during transit.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and emergency responders.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, resolving customer concerns calmly and effectively.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and incident reports accurately.
- Perform routine inspections of tow truck equipment, including mechanical systems and safety features like forklifts or other lifting devices.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, particularly flatbed or heavy-duty models.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair procedures.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving is essential.
- Mechanical experience or mechanic background is highly desirable.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with conflict management abilities to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects, operate forklifts if necessary, and perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
