Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Conduct automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery approach
- Load, unload, and secure vehicles using appropriate tools such as forklifts or manual methods
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and emergency responders
- Manage conflict situations professionally while maintaining safety protocols during recovery operations
- Perform routine inspections of tow truck equipment and perform basic automotive repairs as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines and traffic laws to ensure safe driving and recovery operations at all times
Experience
- Proven experience operating tow trucks, including flatbed or hook-and-chain types
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on automotive repair skills
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and manual transmission systems
- Valid commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial driving preferred
- Mechanic experience or certification is a plus
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict calmly and professionally
