Job Summary:

The Third Grade homeroom teacher is responsible for developing social/emotional skills as well as the core homeroom subjects of Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies for 3rd grade students. The teacher fosters critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning through a student-centered curriculum. This role includes lesson planning, assessment, collaboration with colleagues, and active participation in the school community.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver instruction in Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies aligned with Tower’s mission and academic goals.
  • Facilitate morning meetings and other proactive practices related to Responsive Classroom.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans for targeted reading group, using Math In Focus and Collins Writing in instruction.
  • Use varied teaching strategies and assessments to meet the needs of a range of learners.
  • Conduct formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
  • Write detailed, personalized progress reports and conduct conferences with parents/guardians.
  • Maintain open, supportive, consistent communication with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Create a classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and inclusivity.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and collaborative team meetings.
  • Participate in duties during lunch, recess, and various school events.
  • Support and contribute to school-wide diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice efforts.
  • Optional: Coach a sport or lead an extracurricular activity (stipend available).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field. At least two years of teaching experience in an elementary school setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach across multiple disciplines in developmentally appropriate and engaging ways.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with curriculum development.
  • Background in social/emotional learning.
  • Training or coursework in diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

Working Conditions:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Director of Facilities to oversee the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the school’s buildings, grounds, vehicles, and physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a team- oriented professional who enjoys working in an environment centered on education and children. Individuals should be hardworking, organized, service-oriented, and well versed in technology, with experience in the care and maintenance of buildings and grounds and the ability to ensure that all campus facilities are safe, efficient, and well-maintained year-round.

Job Requirements:

  • Day-to-day maintenance and repair of the facility
  • Prepare and supervise preventative maintenance schedules
  • Assure that grounds/landscape are kept in good condition at all times. (This includes snow

and ice removal as well as tree & lawn care, nutrient applications & irrigation knowledge)

  • Certified Pool Operator certification required
  • Support all school events when maintenance assistance is requested.
  • Maintain all school vehicles and maintenance equipment.
  • Present to the Board of Trustees on request

Perform The Following Duties In Conjunction With The Above:

  • Supervise the Maintenance staff
  • Assist in the hiring of permanent staff when necessary
  • Obtain temporary help when needed and approved by Director of Finance & Operations
  • Plan and manage staff workload, assuring employees perform duties and work allotted hours
  • Balance internal/external staffing of all maintenance tasks
  • Serve as onsite/on call person during school’s off hours
  • Negotiate with vendors to obtain best prices for supplies and services
  • Act as the school’s Fire Marshall and Chief Safety Officer
  • Ensure all safety equipment is in working order including extinguishers, smoke detectors,

alarms, panic bars, ladders, exit signs and emergency lighting

  • Work with the Director of Finance & Operations and Head of School to coordinate fire drills and other safety drills as needed.
  • Conduct fire and safety inspections in conjunction with the local town authorities to file

appropriate reports

  • Maintain records of all maintenance activity per the required records retention schedule
  • Maintain Historical Building and Grounds Information for major renovations and installations; e.g. roofs, boilers, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, or a related field preferred;

equivalent professional experience in facilities or plant operations will also be considered

  • 5–7 years of experience in facilities or plant operations (educational or institutional setting

preferred)

  • Certified pool operator certification highly desirable
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience along with ability work in partnership across an organization
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of

conscientiousness and sense of ownership

  • Computer proficiency with a particular comfort in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies as needed while

maintaining a calm, professional, and discreet manner

Qualifications

Required qualifications as per Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MA DPH) regulations

  • Current RN license or higher qualification and current CPR
  • Must pass a CORI/SORI background check
  • Must be available for 2-day orientation June 13 and 14
  • Strong communication skills and computer skills to communicate with families and campers and use online health systems
  • Documented experience working with children/youth
  • Provide documented proof of immunity or vaccination record as mandated by MA DPH; complete camp health form and waiver
  • Participate in mandated, paid camp training
  • Must be able to move quickly around the property on uneven terrain
  • Ability to effectively interact with others, especially children, in the camp’s youth-centered environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes in schedule and work assignment

Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and nursing care for campers and staff
  • Administer medication
  • Keep camper and staff medications during the day
  • Set up the health center, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, manage inventory
  • Collect and review health records and communicate with families and relevant staff about health questions and special needs
  • Maintain healthcare log, incident logs, and all health documentation

Compensation & Benefits

Salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements. This is not a benefits-eligible position.

Extended Day Teacher Responsibilities

  • Participate in developing and implementing high-quality educational, recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for students each day
  • Oversee daily lesson plans and activities that focus on developing a student’s social emotional and gross motor skills
  • Assists in supporting positive behavior of students in a respectful manner
  • Focus on safety, cooperative play, and fun
  • Assist students with assignments and homework
  • Prepare materials and equipment as needed
  • Interact with students to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation to complete tasks
  • Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment
  • Ensure that all school rules, policies and guidelines are followed

Extended Day Teacher Qualifications

  • Experience in education, or degree preferred but not required
  • Experience working in a school setting
  • Prior experience working with children, a plus
  • Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Knowledge of child behavior
  • Communicates and interacts regularly and appropriately with students, parents, and staff,

maintaining positive relationships

Tower School seeks a reliable Custodian/Maintenance Worker to support daily campus operations. Responsibilities include custodial cleaning, light maintenance, grounds care, event set-up, and snow removal to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment.

Key Duties Include:

  • Cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
  • Replenishing supplies and responding to work orders
  • Grounds maintenance and snow removal (including off-shift work during inclement weather)
  • Event set-up/breakdown and general campus support
  • Following safety procedures and using PPE appropriately

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of custodial or facilities experience
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work collaboratively
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
