What are the responsibilities and job description for the Houseman position at TOWER HOSPITALITY?
Hotel housemen provide janitorial and maintenance support to hotels and other such facilities by ensuring that the premises are clean and tidy at all times. They prepare rooms for guests and ensure that all public areas and meeting rooms are well equipped and neat. A Houseman affects every guest stay by accommodating requests, maintaining guest rooms to the highest quality standards, and ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience. Houseman will need to work with Team Members to complete the following tasks:
JOB DUTIES
- Clean all rooms and other areas assigned to you so that Guests comment on the cleanliness of the environment and return to the hotel for multiple visits
- Report any missing or damaged items to the Housekeeping Supervisor and be responsible to ensure that the items are replaced or repaired as to create an uninterrupted or impaired stay for the Guest
- Respond quickly to Guest requests, when reasonable, with accommodations that may enhance their experiences with the hotel, i.e. extra pillows, extra beds, bathroom supplies
- Ensure that all equipment used when performing housekeeping responsibilities is in working condition. This includes equipment used inside and around Guest rooms as well as in work areas.
- At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision
- Good problem solving and multitasking skills and ability to develop conceptual alternatives
- Able to effectively communicate both written and verbal
- Mathematical skills required
- Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance
