Experienced Service Technician

Tower Country Equipment – Gillette, Wyoming

Tower Country Equipment is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our team in Gillette, Wyoming. We are seeking a skilled, dependable technician who can diagnose, repair, and maintain Bobcat and other construction and compact equipment.

This is an experienced-level position for someone who is comfortable working independently, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and completing repairs correctly and efficiently. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of professional equipment repair experience, brings their own professional hand tools, and has previous manufacturer or dealer training on Bobcat or other major equipment brands.

For the right individual, this position offers a potential career path into a Shop Foreman role as our service operation grows. We're particularly interested in experienced technicians who take ownership, help develop those around them, and have an interest in future leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic issues on construction and compact equipment.
• Perform repairs, maintenance, and service on Bobcat equipment and other brands.
• Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic software, service information, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
• Perform engine, drivetrain, hydraulic, electrical, and component repairs.
• Complete preventative maintenance and equipment inspections.
• Identify additional repairs or maintenance needed and communicate findings clearly to the Service Department.
• Accurately document diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, and technician time in Flyntlok, our dealer management system.
• Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership safety practices.
• Participate in manufacturer and technical training as required.
• Work closely with the Service Writer, Parts Department, and other technicians to keep customer equipment moving through the shop.
• Provide professional service and communication when interacting directly with customers.
• Assist and mentor less-experienced technicians when appropriate.
• Demonstrate leadership through workmanship, accountability, organization, and teamwork.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, diesel equipment, or similar machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven diagnostic ability.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical service information.
• Ability to perform repairs independently with limited supervision.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to safely operate equipment associated with the position.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with equipment repair and shop work.
• Must provide and maintain your own professional set of hand tools appropriate for the position.

Tower Country Equipment will provide specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer-specific tooling required to perform assigned work.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Previous Bobcat service experience.
• Bobcat factory or manufacturer technical training.
• Previous dealership service department experience.
• Factory training or certifications from other major construction, agricultural, or heavy-equipment manufacturers.
• Advanced hydraulic, electrical, and diesel diagnostic experience.
• Experience using electronic diagnostic tools and dealership management systems.
• Previous experience mentoring or training other technicians.
• Lead technician, team lead, or shop foreman experience.
• An interest in progressing into a service leadership position.
