JOB SUMMARY
|
Provide leadership in the development and improvement of the district in various areas such as curriculum and instruction, student services, communications and management, under the direction of the principal.
|
|
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Assist in the development and establishment of district goals and objectives and the planning of the district instructional program.
- Assist with the administrative and instructional functions to meet the educational needs of students, while carrying out the mission and goals of the district.
- Advise and assist the Principal on the administration, supervision/evaluation of building matters, student discipline/behavior, attendance and other staff/student related matters.
- Maintain compliance with school law and district policy.
- Initiate and conduct teacher, student and parent meetings as appropriate.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs for staff development.
- Co-coordinate the new teacher induction program in conjunction with the Jr/Sr High School Assistant Principal as per the Strategic Plan.
- Assist in the evaluation of faculty and staff, school programs and building activities.
- Promote and maintain open communication, positive attitudes, respect and self worth between students, faculty and staff, parents and community.
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of reports required or appropriate to the school’s administration; maintain records.
- Assist in supervising extra-curricular and co-curricular activities and events.
- Assume the responsibilities of the Principal in his/her absence.
- Advise National Honor Society Program.
- Assist with developing and implementing remedial credit recovery programs.
- Serve as a positive role model for students in all aspects of performance, demonstrating pride in the honorable profession of public education.

MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
|
- Attend school-sponsored functions.
- Establish and maintain favorable relationships with parents and community groups.
- Participate in meetings, workshops and conferences as required.
- Support public education and student achievement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Jr/Sr High School Principal, Superintendent and Principal of Curriculum and Instruction.

QUALIFICATIONS
|
- Proper Pennsylvania administrative certification necessary
- Knowledge of K-12 curriculum, instruction and assessment, school organization and management, school district policy and PA school law.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination (Section 148 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police (Section 111 of the Pennsylvania School Code)
- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare in accordance with Act 151 of 1994
- Submission of Federal Criminal History Record in accordance with Act 114 of 2006
