Overview
The CILT Technician will have the responsibility of assisting in the installation, maintenance, and general operation of computers and software used in the training of healthcare professionals. In addition, they will assist in the training of Standardized patient actors.
This position provides technical support for simulation-based learning activities, standardized patient (SP) programs, and other instructional technologies within the Clinical Immersion and Learning Technology (CILT) environment.
Responsibilities
• Maintains current knowledge of CILT equipment, software applications, and operation manuals. • Provides technical and operational support for on-site use of Elevate software for Clinical Skills and Simulation Events.• Supports the ITLC as needed. • Assists in the training and ongoing education of Standardized Patient actors. • Provides technical assistance, support, and training to faculty, staff, and learners regarding the use of simulation equipment. • Sets up, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots computer-based training programs and related technology platforms.• Assists with the preparation, operation, and the breakdown of simulation and Standardize Patient events. • Delivers exceptional customer service while supporting faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
The primary qualifications for the position of simulation technician are: Education & Experience:
Required: • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, software applications, and networking fundamentals. • Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot technology systems and equipment. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences. • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality educational experiences.
Preferred:• Working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare learning environments. • Experience with audio-visual systems, recording equipment, and simulation technologies. • Familiarity with Elevate software and related simulation management platforms. • Exposure to virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies used in healthcare education and training. • Experience with Laerdal LLEAP simulation software and manikin-based simulation systems. • Knowledge of Standardized Patient (SP) methodologies, including actor training, scenario facilitation, and performance assessment. • Previous experience supporting healthcare simulation, clinical skills training, or experiential learning programs.
