Golf Course Maintenance

OBJECTIVE:

To provide exceptional turf conditions that exceeds the customer and company's needs while ensuring the safety of both co-workers and the public.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Reports to: Designated Crew Leader or Foreman

2. Directs: Does not supervise any employees

3. Other: Has some contact with the general public

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Duties include the performance of manual and machine-aided labor tasks; mowing grass and using different types of mowers

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

During the year, one or all of the essential job functions will be performed

 Use hand tools to dig ditches or holes

 Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs by use of reel-type and rotary mowers

 Hand shovel dirt or gravel

 Assist in aerification and top dressing greens

 Tamp, pack and level dirt or other material

 Operation of irrigation pumps

 Manual watering

 Load and unload materials and equipment

 Change putting green cups on greens

 Trim trees, pick up brush, and load brush onto a truck

 Plant trees and shrubbery

 Cut grass using a push, power, or small rider lawn mower or power trimmer

 Perform light maintenance and construction duties

 Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

 Must be able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or fell, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and reach with hands and arms

 Must arrive at work on time

 May occasionally operate a tractor mower, or other light equipment

 Must maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to follow oral instructions, to learn to use power or hand operated tools, to perform strenuous work in the outdoors under extreme heat and cold weather conditions; and to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other employees. May be required to have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Graduation from high school or equivalent is desirable

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employees are subject to random drug/alcohol testing throughout their employment

Must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: A valid Class C Texas driver's license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
