We are seeking a mid-level Controls Engineer to join our team developing advanced engine and hybrid-electric stationary power generation systems. This role combines engine controls development with electrical system design and integration across 12V and 48V subsystems. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to deliver a reliable, efficient and safe hybrid platform for next-generation distributed power applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and calibrate MATLAB/Simulink control models on embedded ECUs for engine and hybrid electric power generation systems to optimize performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Design, select and validate 12V and 48V electrical architectures, including wire harness, sensors, battery systems, inverters, DC/DC converters and CAN networks.
- Support existing LabView data acquisition and control systems.
- Collaborate with mechanical and testing teams.
- Support prototype commissioning, validation and troubleshooting at partner and customer sites (approximately 20% travel).
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relevant control system development
- Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink for model-based control design and code generation.
- Experience with LabVIEW or other graphical programming and data acquisition tools.
- Strong analytical, documentation and cross-functional communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in engine development, calibration or testing programs.
- Experience with version control (Git, SVN, or similar) for collaborative software development.
- Background in hybrid or battery-integrated power generation systems is a plus.
