Bartender Responsibilities
- Welcoming residents and families, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
- Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
- Checking identification to ensure customers are of the legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure the bar and tables are well-stocked.
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
- Developing new cocktail recipes.
- High School Diploma.
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.
- Possess TABC certification
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive, engaging personality and professional appearance.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong task and time management abilities.
- Eye for detail and understanding of drink-mixing tools and techniques.
- Have a commitment to Touchmark’s values (hospitality, compassion, excellence, teamwork, and integrity), as well as a desire to model these values and encourage others to be allies, friends, and givers
- Have at least one year of experience working as a bartender in a high-volume setting, and the ability to maintain a safe, controlled bar environment
- Possess a valid food handler’s card and any state-required liquor/server certification
- Have experience using a computer and/or POS system
- Be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and stay on your feet for long periods of time
- Have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when dealing with residents' family members, visitors, and team members.
