We are seeking a Companion Caregiver to join our team! We are looking for a caregiver to work with a couple with moderate but progressing dementia, in a facility. We are looking for someone to commit to two overnight shifts per week with other shifts potentially possible, depending on availability. Consistency is key in this situation so we are looking for someone who is able to commit to a set schedule. Additional hours/clients may be available. Responsibilities include providing companionship/monitoring, assisting with bedtime routines, and preparing light meals and/or snacks. The facility staff handles personal cares so the ideal candidate must work well and coordinate with the facility staff. The ideal candidate is patient, compassionate, reliable and a team player. In this role, you will make a difference in the lives of seniors and people with disabilities by enhancing their quality of life.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Coordinate and communicate well with facility staff and client family.
- Remain alert should clients get up at night and need assistance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a Caregiver, Home Health Aide, or similar role is preferred
- Ability to adhere to all health and safety guidelines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, respectful, ethical
