What are the responsibilities and job description for the TRH Imaging Nurse Navigator position at TOUCHETTE?
Job Summary:
The nurse navigator provides comprehensive coordination of care for patients and their
families/caregivers from screening to detection to diagnosis and treatment.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and implementation of day-to-day clinical activities and
procedures for mammography and CT lung screening programs
- Guides patients and families through the screening, enrollment, and scheduling process
- Assist patients with referrals to outside resources and care coordination as needed.
- Ensure programs meet ACR and MQSA guidelines
- Stays current with relevant and current literature and practice standards
- Participates in the lung cancer network meeting and other relevant committees deemed necessary
- Organizes and/or participates in program outreach
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Provides educational programs and in-services to hospital coworkers and community to increase
awareness
Position Qualifications:
- Active IL nursing license from an accredited nursing program Requires excellent leadership,
organizational, written, and verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimum supervision
- Ability to implement professional and community-based education programs
- Knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft applications
- Current BLS certification to be renewed as required
Experience:
- 1 year of nursing experience preferred
