Machine Assistant

Our New Albany client is seeking a Machine Operator Assistant.

Position Summary: This role involves assisting the Press Operator in operating the printing/laminating press. Duties include setup, clean down, roll changing, and ensuring quality production. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate production records and supporting the inspector.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the Manager and take limited direction from the Print Operator.
• Adhere to safety policies, including compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Safely handle and store cylinders.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area.
• Follow quality procedures and requirements set by the quality department.
• Minimize production waste purposefully.
• Eliminate non-conforming products (defects).

Education/Skills:

• Equivalent to high school graduation from an accredited four-year institution (preferred).
• Able to understand and implement oral and written instructions.
• Proficient in maintaining accurate written records.
• Basic computer/ERP skills. Capable of performing simple mathematical calculations

Physical Requirements:

• Must have the physical ability to perform assigned duties safely and efficiently.
• Good eyesight for detecting differences in textures and colors.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Schedule/Pay:

• 1st - M-Th 5:00 am-3:00 pm with some mandatory Fridays $18/hr
• 2nd - M-Th 2:45 pm-12:45 am with some mandatory Fridays $20/hr
