Evening Porter / Sanitation Porter – Touch of Italy Bakery

Part-time/Full time - Mon–Fri, 4–10 PM - 30 hrs/week · $17–$19/hr (DOE)
Touch of Italy is a growing restaurant group, bakery and food production company with locations in Lewes,
Rehoboth Beach, Dover, Ocean City and Ocean Pines. We're hiring a dependable, self-motivated Porter to
keep our production facility areas in Rehoboth clean, safe and inspection-ready. No experience necessary.
We will train.
Schedule
● Shifts are typically Monday – Friday, 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
● Minimum 30 hours per week (usually 5 shifts)
● Occasional weekend or holiday shifts may be needed based on business needs
Responsibilities
● Clean and sanitize kitchen, production, prep and storage areas following written checklists and cleaning
schedules
● Sweep, mop, scrub and degrease floors, walls, drains and equipment
● Operate floor scrubbers, pressure washers, wet/dry vacs and other cleaning equipment
● Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely, following labels and directions
● Wash pots, pans, sheet trays, racks and production equipment
● Remove trash, recycling and cardboard; clean dumpster and dock areas
● Clean and restock restrooms, break rooms and hand sinks
● Organize and clean walk-in coolers, freezers and dry storage
● Receive, check and put away deliveries as needed
● Report damaged equipment, leaks, pest activity or safety hazards to management
● Perform minor repairs and maintenance (if qualified)
● Operate a forklift or pallet jack to move product and supplies (if certified)
● Secure the building at end of shift (lights, doors, equipment off)
Requirements
● 18 years or older
● Able to read and write, and follow written instructions and checklists
● Able to work independently without direct supervision
● Available Monday – Friday evenings; occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
● Reliable transportation and punctual attendance
● Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
● Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; bend, kneel, reach and climb a step ladder
● Able to work in wet, hot and cold (cooler/freezer) environments
● Willing to wear required PPE (gloves, goggles, non-slip shoes)
Preferred, not required
● Forklift experience or certification
● Basic handyman skills (plumbing, fixtures, minor repairs)
● Food service or commercial cleaning experience
● Spanish/English bilingual
