Expert Heavy Equipment Operation

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Expert Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a wide range of heavy machinery with precision and safety, ensuring efficient progress on construction projects. Specifically, your primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain a 2024 Kobelco SR 210, a 53,000 pound machine with a thumb. Your expertise will help drive project success while maintaining strict adherence to safety regulations and operational standards. Duties

• Operate a 53,000 pound excavator to construct, roads, foundations, clear land, run and operate a small rock processing operation that requires to separate rip rap and stackers from shot rock, and prepare balance for screening. Operate various construction machinery including additional excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, cranes, dozers, and dump trucks to perform site preparation, material handling, and earthmoving tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery; utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Handle materials efficiently using specialized equipment such as concrete mixers, water trucks, tanker trucks, roll-off trucks, and farm machinery.
• Coordinate with team members to execute construction plans accurately and on schedule; assist with site setup and cleanup as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety checks in accordance with company policies.
• Adhere strictly to hydraulics operation protocols and ensure all machinery is operated within manufacturer specifications.

Skills

• Extensive experience operating Kobelco SR210 excavator heavy construction equipment including excavators, loaders, dozers, backhoes, cranes (including crane operation), and material handling machinery.
• Strong knowledge of construction site safety procedures, occupational safety regulations, and equipment safety protocols.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot issues related to hydraulics and construction machinery.
• Familiarity with hand tools and their proper use for minor repairs or adjustments on-site.
• Experience in commercial truck driving; proficiency in operating front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
• Construction site experience with an understanding of concrete mixing processes and farm machinery operation where applicable.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals related to Caterpillar or similar heavy equipment brands; strong understanding of hydraulics systems.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members; commitment to following all safety regulations and PPE use at all times.

Pay: $32.50 - $45.00 per hour
