What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Material Handler/Forklift Driver position at Tottser-Iroquois Industries LLC?
Manages and drives a forklift truck and the lifting apparatus.
Checks engine oil and coolant fluid level to ensure they are at a safe operating level.
Properly positions forks under loaded pallets, skids or boxes and transports loads to designated areas. All transporting of products and material must be done in a manner that maximizes safety of the forklift driver and nearby employees, minimizes the change of damaging the product, the forklift and the physical surroundings.
Load and unload trailers in accordance with the scheduled pick-up or delivery times.
Inventories material on the work floor in compliance with specific locations.
Weight count or hand count products to ensure correct quantities in containers.
Verifies shipments to Bill of Lading or pull sheet.
Verifies all incoming freight (outsourced parts, fasteners, etc., to shipper).
Supplies repack station with parts, totes, etc., in order to complete orders.
Reads shipping schedule, taking care to pull and stage correct part numbers and quantities for shipment.
Demonstrates through personal action, a strong commitment to disciplined adherence to processes and procedures.
Actively contributes to and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
Completes/records daily forklift inspections.
Verifies labeled containers before placing in warehouse using FIFO.
Supplies weld with empty totes, WIP, fasteners, moves products as necessary.
Works with production team to keep material flow from line to inventory.
