What are the responsibilities and job description for the Washlet Repair Material Handler position at TOTO USA, Inc.?
MAJOR FUNCTION:
To operate a Powered Industrial Truck to perform material handling assignments. Identify, verify, and transfer material to and from storage areas, loading docks, railroad cars and trucks. Performs required documentation of these activities. To support and perform all job duties to keep the Washlet repair line moving. Including, but not limited to boxing, return labels, shipments, moving packages, receiving, etc…..
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:
May include, but not limited to: PIT (gas or electric), banding tools, pallet jacks, both hand held and lift mounted scanners, hammers, crowbars, bolt cutters, shrink wrapping equipment, measuring devices, precision measuring devices, calibrated inspection jigs, basic hand tools such as: ratchets/sockets, torque wrench, adjustable wrench, box cutters, cardboard tape guns, latex and/or cotton knit gloves, calculators, hand held radios, computers, and printers. PIT may be Sit down, Reach, order picker, sweeper, walk behind, platform, stock chaser, and/or other PIT as assigned.
MATERIALS:
May include, but not limited to: Contact with: ABS plastic parts, silicone rubber parts, brass and stainless steel parts, cardboard boxes, wooden pallets, adhesive labels, vitreous china products. Contact with oil lubricant/preservative as well as powder mold release/preservative on vendor parts. Utilizes Windex, alcohol, acetone, Loctite, silicone oil, silicone grease and adhesive remover such as Goof Off.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving customer repairs by date and store them safely per procedures.
- Pick, pull, and confirm parts usage for the repair teams.
- Able to Cycle counts and keep accurate tracking of parts.
- Support the work stations in keeping the work duties going.
- Talk with FAP Data entry team for parts order and restock.
- Maintains inventory accuracy and integrity at all times.
- Follows all facility policies and procedures, including, but not limited to the employee handbook.
- Actively contributes in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiative program projects for assigned area as well as plant wide.
- Operates safely gas/electrical powered industrial truck which may requires:
*Refill propane tanks. *Check and refill other fluids as necessary *Prepare forklift, daily preventive maintenance inspection report. *Notify supervisor of defective or unsafe conditions.
- Manually and mechanically lifts products, accessories, and components on/off pallets as required.
- Moves material within the facility with the use of PIT (i.e. forklift, pallet jack, reach truck etc.) as required.
- Transport and stock products in designated storage areas and documents moves.
- Pull the correct product for assigned order.
- Store and stack products safely and accurately in accordance order requirements and practices.
- Take physical inventory of specific items or areas as needed understands root cause of any discrepancies
- Organize work assignments to minimize downtime and errors.
- Notify supervisor of potential problems as soon as evident.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, finger and grasp materials.
- Uses tools such as hammers and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, etc.
- Keeps warehouse clean by keeping aisles free of clutter and other debris (5S activities).
- Maintains good housekeeping practices (safe, neat, and orderly work area per 5S program), follows all safety rules and abides by all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Follows and supports ISO related activities, and encourages other associates to follow ISO recommendations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of six (18) months powered industrial truck experience and pass Toto PIT certification for each PIT operating. Must be able to read and interpret product labels, shipping instructions, and pick list as well as count inventory proficiently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment consists of an indoor manufacturing facility with limited heat in winter, not air conditioned in summer. Summer heat is moderate. Minor exposure to odors from lubricants/preservatives as well as fumes from gas operated lift trucks. Moderate noise levels are present. Job requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) that may include, but not limited to; protective gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, protective sleeves, and safety shoes. Minimal possibility of accidents of a minor nature requiring first aid.
