Position Overview
The Controller will play a key role in owning and improving the company’s accounting function, supporting financial operations, and driving process improvements across the organization. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance & CFO, the role requires a blend of strong technical accounting expertise and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
· Take ownership of job costing and unit price billing.
· Drive process improvements, automation, and system optimization using Foundation Software.
· Oversee daily accounting operations including AP, AR, and the general ledger.
· Prepare and maintain general ledger entries in compliance with GAAP.
· Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
· Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and financial analysis.
· Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly tax filings.
· Manage month-end and year-end close processes ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
· Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights for management decision-making.
· Support external audit, tax, and ESOP reporting requirements.
· Ensure compliance with accounting and payroll regulations.
· Maintain organized records for audits and regulatory reporting.
· Collaborate closely with the VP of Finance & CFO on strategic planning and financial analysis.
· Assist in rolling out additional modules within Foundation Accounting Software.
· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and payroll processes.
Qualifications Required
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
· 5–10 years of accounting experience (construction industry strongly preferred).
· Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
· Strong problem-solving and independent thinking abilities.
· Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
· Experience in construction, industrial services, or project-based accounting.
· Experience with Foundation Accounting Software and related platforms.
· Proven ability to improve financial processes and leverage technology.
