Role Summary
You'll provide technical support to customers, manage inventory, and document processes for a small, fast-growing wireless equipment company. You'll split your time between helping customers solve networking problems, managing orders and inventory, and documenting procedures. This is a hands-on role where you'll wear multiple hats—you need to be comfortable learning independently, since formal training is limited. Key Responsibilities
Customer Support
- Assist customers with technical questions and product information
- Provide technical support via phone, email, and in-person to customers with varying skill levels
- Help troubleshoot networking and connectivity issues (Cellular RF knowledge is a plus)
- Represent TWD professionally to customers and vendors
Inventory & Order Fulfillment
- Receive, process, and ship customer orders and internal supplies
- Conduct physical inventory counts and participate in reordering
- Document the complete order flow in QuickBooks (training provided)
- Handle boxes and items weighing up to 60 lbs regularly
Technical Documentation & Learning
- Create and maintain network diagrams using Visio
- Document business processes and technical information in Excel and Word
- Troubleshoot and maintain your own computer setup (no IT staff available)
- Self-educate on products, services, and emerging technologies
Product Knowledge
- Become proficient in TWD's product lineup (electronics, antennas, cabling, wireless equipment)
- Learn about industry trends, especially in cellular and wireless communications
Required Qualifications
Education & Communication
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor with customers and colleagues
Technical Skills (Core)
- Solid Windows OS and general computer troubleshooting skills
- Networking fundamentals:
- OSI model (all 7 layers)
- IP addressing (IPv4: classes, subnetting, CIDR notation)
- Basic router and switch configuration
- Ethernet cabling and Wi-Fi basics (802.11 standards)
- Common protocols: TCP/UDP, ICMP, DNS, DHCP, SSH, ARP
- Ability to document networks visually
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems
Business Skills
- Ability to learn small-business processes and inventory management
- Proactive, self-starter mentality
- Physical capability: capable of lifting and moving boxes/equipment regularly
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network certification (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of VPN configuration
- Experience with packet analysis tools (Wireshark)
- Experience with network segmentation (VLANs, DMZ, Port Forwarding, IP Subnetting)
- Basic understanding of IP services (NAT, DHCP configuration)

- IPv6 networking knowledge
- Serial communications (RS232, RS485)
- Narrowband/licensed RF radio communications
- Cellular data communications and certifications
- Network security best practices and recommendations
