Associate Buyer, Category Management

About the Role

Total Wine & More is seeking an Associate Buyer, Wine Category Management to join our Wine Buying team and work at our corporate office in Bethesda, Maryland. You will support the team in driving sales and margin for select categories of the wine business and ensure that the category metrics are achieved and tracked using clear strategies. You will work alongside Category Managers to develop category plans, manage day-to-day operations, and help deliver best-in-class assortments, pricing, and promotions. You'll also take ownership of a few supplier relationships and work with internal partners to meet our customer demands. You will report to the Director, Category Management.

You will

• Support Category Managers in developing and executing category strategies that align with business goals
• Assist in building product assortments, reviewing item performance, and identifying gaps or opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure smooth operations and execution of merchandising plans
• Contribute to building selling tools, reporting decks, and presentations for internal and external use
• Stay current on category trends and consumer behavior to inform planning and recommendations
• Support team with additional projects and strategies as needed, including process improvement and company initiatives
• Must be able to prioritize many assignments simultaneously, and work under tight deadlines

You will come with

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1-3 years in retail buying, category management, planning or allocation experience
• Experience analyzing data and financials using advanced Excel functions (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office-Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
