Hiring range: $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and skill-level.
Schedule
- Must be available to work a full-time schedule (min. of 30 hours/max. 40 hrs per week)
- Work Schedule: Tuesday- Friday and rotating Saturdays
- Hospital Hours: 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
- Has a minimum of 1 full year (12 months) of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a veterinary hospital
- Has the ability to demonstrate proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, ability to accurately fill prescriptions, etc.
- Has solid soft skills/people skills including effective communication with clients and fellow team members, problem-solving, work ethic, maturity, time-management, and other interpersonal skills
- Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education
- Takes initiative by preparing for each day’s appointments, taking phone calls, setting appointments, taking medical history of patients, assisting veterinarians in surgery, physical exams, and diagnostic workups
- Can demonstrate efficient organization and has the ability to pay attention to multiple details by taking initiative and staying motivated to provide excellent service to our clients
- Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve
- Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player
