About Us
Total Truck and Trailer Repair is an established fleet maintenance company looking to add a skilled Tractor Trailer Technician to our team. This is a hands-on lead role where you'll be the primary technician on the floor, reporting directly to the shop owner while overseeing shop helpers in day-to-day operations.
What You'll Be Doing
As our lead technician, you'll take full ownership of fleet repairs and maintenance on Class 8 equipment, keeping vehicles road-ready and DOT compliant — while directing helpers to support your work efficiently.
DOT Compliance & Safety Repairs:
- Brake diagnosis, repair, and replacement
- Tire diagnosis, repair, and replacement
- Exterior lighting repair and replacement
- Exterior labeling and decaling
- Suspension diagnosis and repair
General & Advanced Repairs:
- Major engine diagnosis and repair
- Major electrical diagnosis and repair
- Air conditioning diagnosis and repair
- Satellite communication device diagnosis and repair
- Cummins Insite software for engine diagnostics
- Miscellaneous trailer repairs as directed by the shop owner
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct shop helpers to support repair operations
- Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintain a clean, organized shop environment
- Track repair logs and time using computer maintenance software
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of experience working on Class 8 Tractor/Trailer equipment
- Ability to lead and communicate clearly with helpers
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- A self-motivated professional who takes pride in quality work
Compensation
$3,000 – $3,500/month, depending on experience
