Position: Desktop Technician (Entry-Level)
We are currently seeking an entry-level Desktop Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in customer service, strong problem-solving skills, and a keen interest in launching a career in the IT industry. About the Role:
This is an entry-level position designed to help you learn the ins and outs of desktop support and IT service management. As you work alongside our experienced technicians, you will gain hands-on experience in supporting technical activities such as planning, researching, ticketing, and assisting with deployments. In addition, you will be trained in administrative tasks, allowing you to gain a comprehensive understanding of daily operations. Success in this role will depend on your ability to take on various tasks, including those assigned by the Operations Manager, and Tech lead. We are committed to providing full-time opportunities for dedicated individuals, so the ability to effectively perform assigned duties is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to both customers and internal teams
- Assist in planning, researching, and resolving technical issues
- Manage tickets, track progress, and follow up with customers
- Participate in hardware and software deployments and configurations
- Perform administrative tasks related to daily operations
- Assist with any other tasks assigned by the Operations Manager and Lead Technician
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients in-person and remotely
- Travel to customer locations around Columbus (mileage reimbursed)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Basic understanding of computer systems, networks, and internet security required
- Knowledge of data privacy principles
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (preferred)
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
- Desire to learn and contribute to the company’s growth
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, use basic tools, and have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to travel to client locations with mileage compensation
