Workday Manager (HCM & Financials)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workday Manager to serve as the enterprise owner of the Workday platform, providing strategic leadership, architectural direction, and governance across Workday HCM and Financials.
This role will lead a small team of Workday specialists while partnering closely with Finance, HR (People & Culture), IT, and executive stakeholders to optimize system performance, scalability, and user experience. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical expertise, functional knowledge, and leadership capability to drive enterprise-wide Workday strategy and execution.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Ownership & Strategy
- Lead overall strategy, governance, and roadmap for Workday HCM and Financials
- Serve as the architectural authority across modules, integrations, and data flows
- Ensure system scalability, performance, security, and compliance
Team Leadership & Delivery
- Manage and mentor a team supporting Finance and HR Workday functions
- Oversee day-to-day operations, prioritization, and delivery of enhancements and support
- Provide escalation support and advanced troubleshooting expertise
Configuration & Optimization
- Oversee configuration of Workday modules, business processes, and security frameworks
- Drive continuous improvement of system functionality and user experience
- Align Workday capabilities with evolving business needs
Releases, Integrations & Data Governance
- Lead Workday bi-annual releases, including impact analysis and deployment strategy
- Oversee integrations with third-party systems (payroll, benefits, banking, etc.)
- Ensure data integrity through audits, reporting strategy, and governance standards
Stakeholder Engagement & Project Leadership
- Act as primary liaison between Finance, HR, IT, and external partners
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, system enhancements, and implementations
- Communicate effectively with leadership on priorities, risks, and outcomes
Key Qualifications
- 6 years of enterprise Workday experience, including HCM and Financials
- 3 years of leadership experience managing teams or large-scale initiatives
- Deep expertise in Workday architecture, configuration, and governance
- Strong functional knowledge across HR and Finance business processes
- Experience with integrations, reporting, and data architecture
- Proven ability to lead system implementations, enhancements, and optimization efforts
- Experience working with Workday, AMS providers, and third-party vendors
Preferred
- Workday Financials Certification (additional certifications a plus)
- Experience with Workday Studio, APIs, Prism Analytics, or advanced integrations
HYBRID REMOTE - 3 days on site in San Fernando Valley area a must.
Salary Range: $155k to $180k annually Depending On Experience.
