Production Fabricator

Role SummaryThe Production Fabricator is a multi-disciplinary role responsible for the precision cutting, shaping, and assembly of custom bullet-resistant barrier components. This individual works across various materials—including wood, aluminum, glass, and plastics—to manufacture high-quality products like doors, countertops, and paneling.Primary Responsibilities

• Fabrication & Assembly: Manufacture and assemble custom components including cabinets, trims, moldings, bullet-resistant doors, and glass panels.
• Precision Cutting: Accurately measure and cut materials using calipers, tape measures, and precision instruments to meet blueprint specifications.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of shop tools including upcut saws, drills, impacts, CNC machines, grinders, polishers, and routers.
• Finishing Work: Sand, shape, and finish wood surfaces; perform edgework on glass (seaming, beveling, polishing); and apply laminates or protective films using appropriate adhesives.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed work for defects, chips, or flaws, and make necessary adjustments to ensure all products meet TSS quality standards.
• Shop Maintenance: Maintain an organized workspace using 5S methodology and manage inventory control for materials.
• Material Handling: Safely load, unload, and transport heavy materials and finished products using lifting equipment, suction cups, and dollies. May require training and certification of using powered industrial equipment such as Hi-Low, Combi-lift, etc.)

Required Skills & Competencies

• Technical Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, project drawings, and technical specifications.
• Mathematical Proficiency: Strong basic math skills and the ability to read precise measurements.
• Manual Dexterity: Proven carpentry or fabrication skills, including experience with mitered cuts, jigs, and fixtures.
• Adaptability: Ability to focus on multiple tasks at once and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Technology: Comfortable with technology and a willingness to learn new software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years of carpentry or industrial fabrication experience preferred.
• CNC Knowledge: Knowledge of CNC machine operation/programming and MasterCAM software.
• Specialized Materials: Familiarity with aluminum extrusion assembly or materials like Formica and Corian.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Lifting: Must be able to lift and handle a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Safety: Employees are required to wear safety glasses and safety shoes at all times in production areas.
• Environment: This role takes place in a manufacturing floor environment involving specialized shop machinery and standard office equipment.
