Customer Service & Performance Expectations:
- Greet customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner before they arrive at the gate whenever possible.
- Always maintain an alert and attentive presence, keeping your "head on a swivel" and remaining aware of approaching customers, vehicle traffic, safety concerns, and yard activity.
- Employees are required to maintain a professional appearance and always remain in the proper uniform while on duty. Uniforms must be clean, presentable, and worn in accordance with company policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service while balancing loss prevention and merchandise verification responsibilities.
- Use an issued tablet to accurately scan customers into and out of the yard in accordance with company procedures.
- Verify merchandise leaving the facility by fully counting and confirming items in customer vehicles to ensure they match purchase pick ticket.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicle trunks, trailers, truck beds, cargo areas, and other storage compartments while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers when explaining inspection procedures or resolving questions.
- Maintain a sense of urgency and efficiency to minimize customer wait times while ensuring accuracy.
- Remain at your assigned post and focused on job responsibilities throughout your shift.
- Personal cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, headphones, tablets, gaming devices, or other electronic devices are prohibited while on duty except during authorized breaks or for approved business purposes.
- Avoid distractions and maintain continuous observation of the gate area, customer traffic, and surrounding yard activity.
- Report suspicious activity and merchandise discrepancies.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail in all customer interactions.
- Work cooperatively with store management and associates to ensure a positive customer experience and protect company assets.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements at all times.
Position Summary:
The Gate Attendant serves as the first and last point of contact for customers entering and exiting the yard. This position requires a customer-focused individual who can provide outstanding service while maintaining constant awareness of their surroundings, accurately scanning customers with the tablet, verifying merchandise, inspecting vehicles, and safeguarding company assets. Successful Gate Attendants are attentive, professional, detail-oriented, and committed to creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming experience for every customer.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
