Part-Time / On-Call: Rescue Technician

Total Safety is looking for a Rescue Technician to join our safety-first team! This is a part-time, on-call/standby position supporting various customer projects. You’ll play a critical role in confined space and technical rope rescue, first aid, and CPR, ensuring that safe working practices are followed at all times.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide technical rescue standby for customer projects.
- Assess risks, ready rescue equipment, and plan safe and practical solutions.
- Draft Confined Space Rescue Preplans and Rescue Safety Analyses (RSA).
- Identify hazards, communicate them to all affected parties, and implement controls.
- Monitor air quality and recommend hazard controls or PPE as needed.
- Conduct daily job briefings and ongoing monitoring of job conditions and equipment.
- Complete Incident Command System (ICS) reports daily.
- In case of accident: locate the patient, assess injuries, extricate safely, and hand over to EMS.
- Render first aid and CPR according to training level.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain all rescue equipment to ensure readiness.
- Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of all rescue gear.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
What We’re Looking For:
- 40 Hour Rescue Technician with >6 months experience.
- Confined Space Entrant/Attendant Certification.
- CPR & First Aid with AED.
- First Responder or higher preferred.
- Haz-Whopper and 4 Gas Monitor Operation Training.
- Knowledge of OSHA Atmosphere Limitation.
- Proven proficiency in rescue operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to inspect, clean, and maintain rescue equipment in a constant state of readiness.
