Project Mgr - EHS / Mold Consultant

Total Safety is looking for a Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) to join our environmental health and safety team. The Mold Assessment Consultant is responsible for conducting Mold and indoor environmental quality investigations; performing moisture mapping, humidity monitoring, and fungal sampling; inspecting residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings for conditions conducive to Mold growth; operating and maintaining assessment equipment; documenting findings; and assisting Mold Assessment Technicians (MATs) with reporting and project execution. The MAC will support Mold assessment activities in accordance with applicable state regulations, industry standards, and company procedures. ** MUST have Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) license. **

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Conduct Mold assessments and indoor environmental quality investigations under the supervision of a Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC), when required.

• Perform visual inspections for Mold growth, moisture intrusion, water damage, and building conditions that promote fungal amplification.

• Utilize moisture meters, hygrometers, infrared cameras, borescopes, and other assessment tools to evaluate building conditions.

• Collect environmental samples including air, surface, bulk, and wall cavity samples following established protocols.

• Document site conditions through field notes, photographs, sketches, and electronic data collection systems.

• Perform moisture mapping and identify sources of water intrusion or elevated humidity.

• Prepare chain-of-custody documentation and coordinate laboratory sample submissions.

• Assist in interpreting laboratory results and compiling technical data for consultant review.

• Conduct indoor air quality measurements including temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, and other environmental parameters.

• Assist with development of Mold assessment reports, corrective action recommendations, and remediation protocols.

• Maintain and calibrate field instrumentation and sampling equipment.

• Comply with all applicable safety requirements, respiratory protection programs, and client-specific procedures.

• Submit administrative paperwork including timesheets, expense reports, field reports, and project documentation in a timely manner.

• Interact with clients and regulatory agency representatives.

• Travel to client locations as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must have Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) license.
• Current Mold Assessment Technician (MAT) license preferred where required by state regulations.
• Experience performing Mold investigations, moisture assessments, indoor air quality assessments, environmental sampling, industrial hygiene surveys, or environmental consulting activities preferred.
• Knowledge of building science, water intrusion mechanisms, moisture control principles, and Mold remediation practices.
• Ability to collect and document environmental data accurately and maintain detailed field records.
• Familiarity with sampling equipment including air-o-cell cassettes, spore traps, moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and direct-reading instruments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data management software.
• Ability to read and interpret regulations, technical guidance documents, laboratory reports, and remediation protocols.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to be trained and certified in respiratory protection programs and wear required PPE, including respirators.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Mold Assessment Technician (MAT) License.
• Industrial Hygiene, Indoor Air Quality, Environmental, Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint, or Building Science experience.
• Certifications such as ACAC, IICRC, NORMI, IAQA, or equivalent industry credentials.
• Experience working in industrial, commercial, healthcare, educational, or residential environments.
