Senior Manager – Capital Program
TPS, a sub-consultant to AECOM, is seeking a qualified candidate for a K-12 Senior Manager position to oversee project managers and project management activities in support of the OCPS Capital Building Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Four-year college education (Bachelor’s) in construction management, engineering or related fields from an accredited institution. Experience in a related field will be considered
- Fifteen (15) years of successful experience with progressively increasing responsibility for the overall management of a large institutional or commercial public sector building program
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing higher education and/or K-12 programs
- Preference will be given to candidates that are registered architects or engineers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction management software is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Knowledge and training in leadership, management, and team building.
· Knowledge of project management strategies and concepts to support the services required to deliver a major capital building program. (cradle to grave)
· Ability to oversee and support individual project managers as they manage projects and consultants related to all phases of project development and related deliverables. (planning, design, pre-construction, construction and closeout)
· Skilled in planning, tracking, evaluating and reporting on project management issues.
· Skilled in the administration and management of multiple projects occurring concurrently and in managing and providing services to support the planning, design and construction phases of a major capital building program
· Knowledge to develop, maintain and update in-house processes and procedures
· Ability to manage design professionals and contractors assigned to multiple projects simultaneously
· Ability to conduct reviews of design phase submittals for completeness and compliance with design contract requirements
· Ability to conduct high level reviews of construction phase cost events for accuracy, completeness and compliance with construction contract requirements
· Ability to coordinate with Program Management Team staff conducting planning, design and construction project tasks
· Knowledge and expertise to review and respond to project construction phasing taking into consideration issues such as: transportation, building orientation, on-site parking & stacking, drainage and utility issues
· Knowledge to coordinate communication with multiple project stakeholders that represent the district and/or the school(s)
· Skilled in negotiating fee proposals with design professionals, pre-construction fee proposals as well as Guaranteed Maximum Proposal (GMP) cost elements including cost of the Work, general conditions, general requirements, owner and CM contingencies, bond & insurance, etc.
· Ability to coordinate and oversee the paperwork flow required to procure services from multiple vendors and obtain approvals from multiple inhouse departmental stakeholders including Facilities, Fiscal, Contracts, Budgets and Legal
· Ability to oversee the Architect/Engineer Team’s design and construction phase deliverables
· Knowledge of Florida Building Codes
· Knowledge of local and State governmental and contractual reporting requirements
· Knowledge of FLDOE regulations and experience in the implementation of Florida Statutes and State Requirements for Educational Facilities with regards to the design and construction of school facilities
Salary : $165,000
