Field Service Engineer - Critical Power / UPS Systems

Total Power
Ashburn, VA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/21/2026

Field Service Engineer — Critical Power / UPS Systems
Ashburn, VA (Loudoun County) | $72,000–$96,000 base | $1,000/month performance bonus | $500/month car allowance

The work

You'll be on site at hyperscale and colocation data centers, testing, starting up and supporting commissioning of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems that can't be allowed to fail. Startup, commissioning, owner training, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting — the full lifecycle, not a narrow slice of it. When a facility goes live, you're one of the people who made that possible.

This is not a role where you're handed a checklist and told not to think. You'll find the problem and own the fix.

Where you'll be

Active work in or near the Ashburn, VAarea — one of the densest data center markets in the country. We're looking for someone who wants to be at the center of where this industry is actually being built.

Why this job and not the one down the street

  • A real path forward. Our senior people came up through the field. If you want to grow into a lead role — or eventually into service management — that door is open here, and we'll tell you exactly what it takes.
  • The projects that matter. Multi-unit data center startups, mission-critical facilities, sophisticated customers who value doing it right.
  • A wide band because we pay for what you actually bring. A strong tech with UPS commissioning experience lands near the top of it.
  • Small enough that you're a name, not a badge number. Leadership knows who's on every job and why.

What we're looking for

  • Several years in electrical maintenance, installation, or field service
  • Ability to read schematics and one-lines and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults independently
  • Comfortable in and around high-voltage circuitry, with the safety discipline that requires
  • Residents in the DFW region; legally authorized to work in the U.S.; HS diploma or GED

Strongly preferred

  • Hands-on UPS experience (startup, commissioning, or service)
  • Battery systems and monitoring
  • PLC familiarity
  • Prior data center or mission-critical facility work

If you've been doing generator work, switchgear, industrial controls, or you came out of a Navy or Air Force electrical rating — you may be closer to this than you think. Tell us what you've touched.

Compensation & benefits

Base $60K–$84K depending on experience and level. $1,500/month in additional incentives. Health insurance, paid time off, specialty OEM training, retirement plan.
