Medical Receptionist

Total Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is a multi-office provider of musculoskeletal care. We are searching for a full-time front desk receptionist to work at our Bayonne, West Orange and Clifton locations. Candidate should also be available to travel occasionally to our other locations in NJ.
This individual should be friendly and outgoing and shares the same drive we do for patient satisfaction.

Job Description:

• Meets and greets patients; announces, directs and escorts to appropriate area.
• Interacting with MDs, DCs, PTs attorneys’ offices, outside medical offices in communication to document patient information, review patient policy limits and coverage and retrieve of medical records for a successful patient office visit
• Prepares patient EMR charts with all necessary billing and needed medical records while assisting in the maintenance of electronic medical record with scanning and assigning documents into patient charts
• Answer all emails and help with telephones/faxes while providing clerical and reception support to the team.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments for patients within practice and with outside specialties and facilities.
• Retrieves physician correspondence for daily office visits and send out notes to all referring.
• Assist with staff coverage in all locations and check in and out patients when needed.
• Performs general clerical duties including, but not limited to, filing, photocopying, faxing and mailing
• Keeps reception area organized.
• Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
• Learn Medical Assistant functions.
• Performs other related duties assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

• Experience in a medical office
• Ability to commute to our Bayonne office. Candidate should also be available to travel occasionally to our other locations in West Orange and Clifton
• Knowledge of insurance companies, No Fault and Workers' Compensation
• Knowledge of EHR
• Organization and communication skills
• Knowledge of orthopedic spine terminology a plus

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
