Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead HVAC Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience working specifically as a Lead HVAC Technician, overseeing both residential and/or commercial projects. This position plays a key role in supervising field operations, ensuring quality installations, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead HVAC installation, service, and maintenance teams on job sites
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, and customers to ensure timely completion of jobs
- Perform diagnostic, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance services on HVAC systems (residential and/or commercial)
- Ensure all work complies with current codes, safety regulations, and company standards
- Train, mentor, and evaluate junior technicians and apprentices
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on jobs
- Provide clear, professional communication to customers regarding job status and technical findings
- Oversee job site readiness, including proper materials, equipment, and staffing
- Conduct final inspections and quality checks to ensure system performance and customer satisfaction
- Serve as the on-site technical expert for complex HVAC systems and advanced troubleshooting
- Monitor and enforce safety compliance among crew members
- Assist in inventory management, ordering parts, and equipment maintenance as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Lead HVAC Technician (not just as a technician or helper) Required- please do not apply if you do no have at least one year of experience as lead.
- 1 years overall experience in the HVAC industry preferred
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and procedures
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Physically capable of lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training is a plus
