Role Description The Recovery Outreach Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington, DC. This position focuses on engaging individuals and families in recovery services, conducting community outreach, and connecting community members with appropriate health and support resources. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting with clients, providing information on recovery programs, coordinating referrals, and maintaining ongoing contact to support adherence to treatment and recovery plans. The coordinator will collaborate with clinical teams, community partners, and support networks, while maintaining accurate documentation and case notes in accordance with organizational policies. The role also involves attending community events, facilitating educational sessions, and contributing to program development to enhance recovery support services.
Qualifications
- Experience in community outreach, case management, or recovery support services in a health or social services setting.
- Knowledge of substance use recovery, mental health services, and local community resources.
- Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with diverse populations.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including maintaining accurate records and managing multiple cases or activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
- Comfort working on-site and in the community, including occasional evenings or weekends as program needs require.
- Commitment to ethical, nonjudgmental, and client-centered care, respecting confidentiality and cultural differences.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., peer recovery specialist, community health worker) are a plus.
- Prior experience in Washington, DC communities or familiarity with local systems and services is beneficial.
