What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Total Door?
Monday through Thursday 6am-4:30pm.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: Under supervision and technical guidance, keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair.
GENERAL CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION: A “hands on” technician and “root cause” problem solver supporting production during downtime situations associated with equipment failures. Experience working with compressed air systems, resistance welders, CNC punch, press brake, milling equipment, conveyors, and e-coat paint system a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS: Technical training and 5 years of related work experience, or equivalent. Specific skills include a basic understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, machining on basic tool room equipment, welding, metal fabrication and electrical. Working knowledge of predictive/preventive maintenance practices. Good time management skills and people skills relating to our team-based work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the company directs, inclusive and not limited to the following specific responsibilities.
- Maintain machines and equipment in a safe and timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with all manufacturing employees and peers.
- Examine machines to diagnose trouble and replace defective parts. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
- Responsible for notice and implementation of all equipment safety regulations.
- Follow a software based preventative maintenance schedule; Execution, planning and editing of the preventative maintenance program.
- Keep the maintenance area and stocked inventories neat and organized.
- Generate requisitions for replacement or spare components needed.
- Maintain maintenance manuals for tools and equipment.
· Participation in various projects related to product/ process development or continuous improvement task activities.
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Reports directly to the Maintenance Leader. Works with all Total Door team members to ensure the needs and objectives of the workplace are met.
