What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Total Door?
Schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00am-4:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: Diversified machine or process operations that are moderately complex, such as grinders, millers, drill presses, lathes, etc. on machining operations to produce door parts/components.
GENERAL CANDIDATE DESCRIPTION: Capacity to follow demonstrated procedures. Perform a variety of production duties that are learned on-the-job per standard work instructions. Walking or standing most of the time and frequent moving and physical exertion are inherent to the job. Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to different processes. Good communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a high school diploma or GED. Work does not require formal training in a trade, but experience in manufacturing field is strongly desired. Basic knowledge of math (including basic measuring skills) and reading as well as the ability to use common hand tools and operate machinery or equipment that is unique to the application. Capability to work well and communicate with others. Bonus qualifications include experience with die setting and operation, ability to read calipers and micrometers, Tig and Mig welding experience, and reading blueprints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Learn different procedures and equipment for different departments
- Meet production schedule
- Report all non-conformances to Area Leader(s)
- Cross-train in procedures for other departments
- Keep a clean, safe, and organized workplace consistent with the 6S methodology
- Participate in team problem solving events and actions; communicate findings and feedback to other supporting manufacturing resources and departments
- Adherence to all safety regulations
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
