Transportation Supervisor/Dispatcher

Total Distribution, Inc. has an opening in the Bayonne, New Jersey area for a full-time experienced Transportation Supervisor to support our transportation operation. Monday through Friday Day Shift. Salary negotiable.

How you will contribute to the success of the company and grow your career:

· Keep track of drivers, customer loads, tractor trailer assignments, and load weights.

· Act as a point of contact for drivers and customers.

· Schedule drivers, monitor daily inspections, track time and complete billing in a timely manner.

· Accept loads, dispatch drivers, enter loads, complete paperwork and answer incoming calls.

· Locate freight for drivers to pick up materials and make deliveries.

What you need to excel:

· Minimum of 2 years dispatching experience.

· Previous experience in the transportation industry is preferred.

· Must be available by phone after hours to answer questions or help resolve any issues that drivers may encounter when on the road.

· Must be dependable and able to handle everyday work pressures.

· Must be able to work efficiently to meet deadlines.

· Problem solving skills required.

· Ability to communicate instructions and issues with drivers and customers for resolution as the need arises.

· Ability to work as a team member with peers.

· Ability to maintain a safe work environment.

· Basic math and computer skills required.

· High school diploma or GED equivalent.

· Ability to successfully pass background check and drug screening.

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Training hours will be 8am-4:30pm – once trained the shift will be 5am-1:30pm.
