Job Description
Total Construction is a single-source contractor providing a wide range of services that include design build, precon, construction management and general contracting. We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team.
This position is responsible for leading teams in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, cost control, and customer satisfaction objectives are met. This individual will plan, organize and control all resources (people and materials) for the successful execution of a project. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions on this position
- Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.
- Assist with conceptual estimating, budgeting and pricing as required
- Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages concurrently with support of the Total Construction team.
- Implement and maintain an effective construction safety and security program with project superintendent
- Implement and maintain effective management, planning, and cost control systems using Total Construction software
- Monitor the projects fiscal, administrative, personnel, procurement and office services
- Advise management of developments that may affect project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations
- Review and approve master schedules, estimates and all updates. Maintain historical information
- Identify and evaluate risk that may have an impact on the project
- Maintain effective contingency plans for potential problems concerning labor activity, weather, & procurement
- Review and approve construction operation plans
- Implement and maintain an effective quality control process
- Knowledgeable of Contract terms and conditions, Subcontract terms and conditions, and COIs
- Determine construction staffing requirements in cooperation with management
- Provide support and guidance for the personal and professional development of project personnel
- Establish and maintain communications to ensure accurate and timely flow of information
- Approve and issue weekly to monthly status reports to keep management informed on construction progress, direct and indirect construction costs and forecasts and other activities that are a part of the work
- Participate in business development activities and promote productive client relationships
- Responsible to ensure job status reports are properly reviewed with project team prior to issuance
- Prepare and publish the project completion report including the evaluation of all subcontractors
- Assist with conceptual estimating, budgeting and pricing as required.
- Must be willing to travel within State of MA, southern NH, Rhode Island, & north central/ northeast CT if required.
Duties
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
- Manage project scope, schedule, resources, and budget while maintaining quality standards.
- Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, OneDrive, Microsoft Project, Teams, Word, & Excel) for tracking progress and reporting.
- Apply change management principles to facilitate smooth transitions during project implementation.
- Conduct risk management assessments to identify potential challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Engage in vendor management to ensure that external resources meet project requirements.
Skills
- Proficient in tools such as Procore, Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, and Revu Bluebeam for effective project coordination.
- Leadership skills with experience in team management and conflict resolution.
- Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and presentation delivery.
- Ability to perform data analysis for informed decision-making regarding project direction.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, earned value management, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with IT infrastructure projects and product lifecycle management is a plus
