Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently manage appointment scheduling to optimize daily workflow
- Handle medical billing and collections with accuracy, including processing payments and insurance claims
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures, ensuring safety for pets and staff
- Maintain detailed and organized veterinary records, including laboratory results, treatment plans, and medication logs
- Support kennel operations by providing animal husbandry, feeding, cleaning, and basic grooming as needed
- Facilitate laboratory procedures such as sample collection and processing while adhering to aseptic techniques
- Assist veterinary team with critical care tasks including animal catheterization, anatomy identification, and emergency response protocols
- Manage pet care routines including dog training, pet grooming, and basic animal handling to ensure comfort and safety
Experience
- Proven experience as a Veterinary Receptionist or similar role within a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
- Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and pet care practices
- Hands-on experience with medical collections, laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and critical care support
- Familiarity with kennel operations, animal husbandry, dog handling, pet grooming, and training methods
- Experience working with diverse animals including dogs, cats, equines (horses), and other small or exotic pets is preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members while maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management is advantageous
