About the Role
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders while developing individualized treatment plans that improve residents' quality of life and functional independence.
Responsibilities
Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech therapy plans of care.
- Assess and treat speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Perform dysphagia evaluations and implement appropriate swallowing interventions.
- Reassess patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation using the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate residents, caregivers, and facility staff on communication strategies, swallowing precautions, and home exercise programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Maintain a productive clinical caseload while delivering compassionate, evidence-based therapy services.
Qualifications
Current State Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or eligibility if applicable)
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
Experience in geriatrics, home health, assisted living, or skilled nursing preferred but not required
