Non Medicaid Eligibility Specialist

Compensation: Base salary $65,000 per year.

Job Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: 8:30am- 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (flexible as needed)

Work Environment: This is a hybrid position - work from your home office* with local community visits. Provided with a laptop, printer, and cell phone.

Total Care Services, Inc. (TCS) is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as a Non-Medicaid Eligibility Specialist for our Coordinator of Community Services Program (CCS). As a Non-Medicaid Eligibility Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals who are not Medicaid-eligible or who have lost eligibility, with the goal of securing or reinstating coverage needed for participation in DDA Waiver programs.

As a Non-Medicaid Eligibility Specialist, you will:

  • Meet daily productivity standards of 30 billable units or spend 93.75% of contracted hours completing productivity tasks.
  • Assist individuals with Medicaid applications, renewals, and reinstatements.
  • Conduct follow-up on financial eligibility and required documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with DDA and EDD regarding waiver and eligibility status.
  • Support re-enrollment for individuals returning from long-term care or forensic settings.
  • Track Transitioning Youth (TY) funding, timelines, and initial PCP completion.
  • Coordinate with CCS and the Waiver Department Manager to support TY transitions.
  • Review LTSS updates weekly and maintain accurate eligibility records.
  • Manage a caseload of individuals who are non-Medicaid or pending eligibility.
  • Document all activities in LTSS and ensure compliance with DDA standards.
  • Complete EVS checks, review AO2 items, participate in required trainings, and conduct in-person visits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or bachelor's degree in human services, such as Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Child Development, Counseling, Special Edu, etc.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must be a licensed driver and have own transportation with valid insurance.
  • Must be able to drive to and from meetings throughout the state of Maryland.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or alien who is lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to work a flex schedule.
  • Must have computer skills and know how to perform tasks utilizing Microsoft Word, MS Excel, and/or MS Access.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and possess the ability to perform statistical analysis of aggregate data.
