Laundromat attendant (Temporary position, 6-8 weeks)

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laundromat Attendant for a temporary position lasting approximately 6 to 8 weeks. In this energetic role, you will be the friendly face ensuring the smooth operation of laundry services, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing excellent customer service. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in laundry operations within a dynamic environment, supporting both team members and customers with their garment care needs. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where cleanliness and efficiency are prioritized.

Ideal for students or retirees with flexible schedules. Bi-lingual English-Spanish is desired, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facility & Cleanliness Responsibilities
• Maintain overall cleanliness and sanitation of the facility
• Clean and disinfect folding tables, and high-touch areas
• Sweep, mop and spot clean floors throughout shift
• Wipe down machines, counters, seating, and common areas
• Report equipment issues, leaks, hazards or maintenance needs
• Maintain safe walkways and clean spills promptly

Customer Experience Responsibilities

• Greet customer and provide welcoming environment
• Answer questions about services, pricing, and facility use
• Assist customers with machine operation when needed
• Support wash-and-fold order intake, tagging and processing
• Help resolve customer concerns calmly and professionally
• Monitor facility to ensure safety and positive guest experience
• Communicate service issues or customer feedback to management

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
• Basic knowledge of garment finishing, pressing techniques, dry cleaning processes, and laundry services is advantageous.
• Familiarity with garment care machine operation such as pressing machines and fabric care equipment is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and team members.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting of laundry loads.
• Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and the use of cleaning detergents to maintain a hygienic workspace.
• Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards and ensuring quality garment care.
