The Industrial Engineering Intern will support key manufacturing engineering and process excellence initiatives within the UPS manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Engineering Support
- Support PE Manufacturing projects focused on improving production efficiency, workflow optimization, and standard work development.
- Participate in production time studies to analyze cycle times, labor utilization, and bottlenecks within assembly and test processes.
- Assist with documentation of processes, findings, and improvement recommendations.
- Support the deployment of ESL/digital signage solutions to replace paper-based production status indicators.
- Help integrate assembly status data captured through i‑Reporter to provide real-time visibility to production teams.
- Assist with validating data accuracy, usability, and effectiveness of digital signage on the shop floor.
- Support the digitalization of data acquisition from production and test processes using i‑Reporter tools.
- Assist in defining and organizing database (DB) structures to support future data usage, reporting, and analytics.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT stakeholders to ensure data captured aligns with manufacturing and quality objectives.
- Exposure to real‑world manufacturing systems and industrial engineering applications in a high‑volume production environment.
- Hands-on experience with digital manufacturing tools, data collection systems, and process analytics.

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Exposure to time studies, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience or coursework related to data collection systems, databases, or digital manufacturing tools.
- Interest in manufacturing systems, automation, or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to production areas.
