Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relations Expert: Collaborate closely with engineering disciplines, project managers, and construction management staff to support design efforts and lead the development of engineering estimates across design stages.
- Technical Excellence: Prepare detailed construction cost estimates from conceptual through construction documents. Perform quantity takeoffs using AutoCAD and apply unit pricing based on labor, materials, and equipment. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and conformance with project scope.
- Innovative Solutions: Contribute to value engineering and life cycle cost analyses. Review and resolve comments from audit estimators and help develop order-of-magnitude costs for planning purposes.
- Project Process Management: Update unit cost data for use in project estimates. Coordinate estimating efforts across engineering disciplines to align with project delivery standards and estimating procedures.
Requirements:
- Education Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field from a U.S. accredited institution. 10–15 years of hands-on estimating experience for design-bid-build and/or design-build/fast-track projects, including building, heavy/civil, and infrastructure construction. Estimating certifications from ASPE, AACE, or RICS preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience with airport construction (airside and landside) preferred. Familiarity with construction at various stages of design and across all trades and disciplines.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience using AutoCAD for quantity takeoffs. Knowledge of estimating software and experience with SharePoint and E-Builder preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and departments. Strong writing and presentation skills for estimates and technical reviews.
