What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Line Operator position at Tortilleria Gomez?
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Line Operator to join our team. As a Line Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient and safe production processes. Must be able to work at a steady pace, stand on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, twist, push and/or pull up to 50lbs. Must be fluent in Spanish. Part-time hours with the potential to be full-time. Start time is 4:00 am.
Responsibilities:
- Measure, portion, and mix raw ingredients according to recipe.
- Produce products according to specification as described on work orders
- Set up and monitor presses to target the tortilla sizing.
- Set up and monitor Divider/Rounder to target correct scaling dough ball weight
- Set up and monitor equipment to produce uniform product: shape, roundness and no cracking edges.
- Ensure adequate product net weight and adjust scaling weight accordingly to meet net weight requirements.
- Cook tortillas on a flat-top grill or comal to required texture, temperature, and appearance standards.
- Monitor grill temperature to ensure consistent cooking and prevent burning or under cooking.
- Maintain a steady production flow to meet service demands.
- Count and package tortillas.
- Ensure that tortillas are properly cooled down before packaging.
- Properly clean equipment and work areas after production has been completed.
- Ensure to follow company safety practices and policies.
- Report any and all food safety and/or quality concerns to your supervisor.
- Must have Food Handler's certificate or complete the course within 30 days of hire.
- Must be fluent in Spanish.
