Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a 7-3 Supervisor, overseeing nursing operations during the daytime shift from Monday through Friday. This leadership role requires a highly organized professional with a strong background in patient care, nursing management, and healthcare regulations. Responsibilities
- Supervise nursing staff working during the 7 am to 3 pm shift, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate patient care activities, ensuring timely assessments, accurate documentation, and adherence to clinical protocols.
- Oversee compliance with HIPAA regulations, state healthcare laws, and facility policies to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
- Facilitate effective communication among interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Monitor clinical workflows and resource allocation to ensure efficient operations while maintaining high standards of care.
- Conduct regular audits of medical records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.
- Support staff development through training on EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth, along with updates on ICD coding and medical terminology.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards such as NCQA or long-term care regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state registration; BSN preferred.
- Extensive experience in acute care settings such as hospital medicine, ICU, or emergency medicine; trauma center experience highly desirable.
- Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience within long-term care facilities or skilled nursing environments.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms; familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing practices, vital signs assessment, medication administration, and IV infusion techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and promote a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, OSHA standards, and long-term care policies; basic life support (BLS) certification required.
