The Torrance Unified School District consists of 17 elementary, 8 middle, 4 high schools, 1 continuation, and 1 alternative high school. The District also has 3 adult school campuses. Torrance Unified was established in 1947 and unified in 1948, and is nestled in the heart of the South Bay, in the southwestern part of Los Angeles County. Our District is bordered by the Palos Verdes Peninsula on the south, the beach cities - Redondo, Hermosa, and Manhattan Beach - to the west, and the cities of Lawndale and Hawthorne to the north. Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director-Nutrition Services, performs specialized, professional activities in the planning, arranging, documenting and ordering food items, and ensuring nutritional products and goods within the District’s central kitchen and at various school sites; receives, records and processes reduced meal eligibility program applications and requests for services; reviews applications for program compliance and determines eligibility; maintains a variety of records including invoices, delivery records and meal eligibility documents; prepares and sends letters of eligibility status, and details for financial State and federal reimbursement; performs other duties as assigned.

FILING DEADLINE - JUNE 26, 2026, 4:30 PM District Classified application and supplemental form must be submitted to the Personnel Commission Office by the filing deadline. SELECTION PROCEDURE: This is an OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list and fill a vacancy. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list. The current vacancy is full-time, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 4 PM, 12 months per year. The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview, which are tentatively scheduled during the weeks of June 29-July 17, 2026. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.
