Catalina Care Center is part of a skilled nursing campus located on 6 acres of land in San Pedro, where residents can enjoy the breeze from the nearby Pacific Ocean.
We are looking to add a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant to our in-house team to further develop our home-like environment and help our residents achieve their rehabilitation goals as quickly and efficiently as possible.

REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR Certification is mandatory.
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is a must.
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in long-term care.
- Good physical and mental health are required.
- Capable of meeting physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Proficient in following oral and written instructions.
- Possess training, knowledge, and experience for general supervision of responsibilities.
REPORTING:
The Physical Therapist Assistant reports to the Physical Therapist and the Rehabilitation Director.
JOB DUTIES:
- Fundamental understanding of physical medicine, physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology.
- Basic knowledge of operating, maintaining, and repairing physical therapy machines.
- Administers treatment and rehabilitation services to patients with injuries or disabilities. Conducts exercises with residents.
- Follows treatment instructions given by the supervising Physical Therapist. Adheres to physical medicine practice standards.
- Evaluates treatment effects, discusses observations with staff and Physical Therapist.
- Monitors and documents resident treatment and responses.
- Contributes to creating a teaching plan based on identified learning needs, assesses teaching effectiveness, involves family when necessary, and informs staff and Physical Therapist of outcomes.
