Position Summary
Essential Job Functions
1. Create and submit draft Fair Board Meeting Agendas to the County Manager for review.
2. Ensure approved Fair Board Meeting Agendas are posted on the Torrance County website in accordance with the Open Meetings Act.
3. Attend all Regular and Special Meetings of the Fair Board and compile accurate meeting minutes in a timely manner.
4. Prepare requisition requests per Torrance County Purchasing Policy.
5. Prepare Agreements for Fair Board approval as needed.
6. Create spreadsheets as needed for the Fair Board.
7. Attend tag-ins.
8. Compile data for County Fair Class Breaks and Classes.
9. Sit at Announcers Stand during the livestock shows and keep track and report results.
10. Compile livestock and cake sales' sheet.
11. Assist Torrance County Treasurer and Finance Department during the Fair Auction.
12. Compile date post sale for payment purposes.
13. Assist with entering Fair Board approved changes into the Fair Book and create the Fair Book for distribution.
14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have a New Mexico Drivers License.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge in county fair operations, rules, procedures, awards, etc. is preferred.
- Knowledge of livestock, 4-H, and FFA is preferred.
- Must be organized.
- Must have excellent computer skills.
- Must be proficient in Excel and Word.
- Must have at least two years experience in administrative office duties.
- Must be able to receive instruction from a Board and the Chairman of the Board without issue.
- Must be able to provide a Treasurer's Report to the Fair Board.
- Experience in procurement is preferred.
