What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Alarm/Special Systems Electrician position at Torgeson Electric Company?
Torgeson Electric Company is currently seeking individuals looking to join the fire alarm and special systems controls industry for commercial projects.
Fire Alarm/Special Electricians are able to install a fully functioning Fire Alarm and/or HVAC Controls System. Some traveling required to job sites in northeast Kansas.
Based on experience. $1500 signing bonus.
40 or more per week
Travel allowance provided, if required

- Ability to effectively Communicate
- Follow safety policies and procedures at all times.
- PPE required for all duties.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- You will work with one of our fire alarm/HVAC controls foreman and receive on the job training
Tasks would include running conduit, wire/cable installation, device installation, troubleshooting, and system testing
OSHA 10 required (reimbursement available upon completion)
Fill out daily pre-job safety plan for the work that will be performed
Basic electrical knowledge preferred but not required
If seeking a foreman position, must have 3 years of experience, have worked with multiple system brands and have a minimum NICET level 2 certification for fire alarm
- Complete full special systems installation from blueprints, schematics and/or technical drawings to AHJ acceptance testing
- Install special systems in accordance with NEC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards
