About Torch Pictures
Torch Pictures is a woman-owned, full-service photo and video production house based in Northern Virginia. With over 15 years of experience across advertising, art direction, and international news, we specialize in visual storytelling for high-impact brands, documentaries, and people.
As Torch Pictures continues to grow, so does our creative footprint, both on-set and online.
The Opportunity
Torch Pictures & Torch Studio are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Creative Operations & Social Media Intern to join our small but mighty team for Winter/Spring 2026. This role blends hands-on production experience with meaningful responsibility in managing and growing Torch’s social media presence.
You’ll work closely with our Production Coordinator, support our Director of Photography (DP) on shoot days, and play an active role in shaping Torch’s social media strategy and portfolio. This internship is ideal for someone interested in both creative production and social media management, with the long-term goal of helping build—and eventually lead—Torch’s social media management division.
If you’re excited by the idea of learning everything from inbox management to lighting setups and helping define a growing creative brand online, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Production & Administrative Support
- Assist with scheduling, data management, and pre-production logistics
- Sit in on client calls and support client communications
- Help maintain organizational systems, including CRM tools and studio booking platforms
Social Media & Brand Growth
- Manage and edit content for Torch Pictures’ social media accounts (including Instagram)
- Source and curate behind-the-scenes content from shoots and studio activity
- Organize photo and video assets and help maintain a light content calendar
- Contribute creative ideas for reels, stories, captions, and post concepts aligned with Torch’s visual identity
- Support the growth of Torch’s social media management portfolio, with mentorship and the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility over time
On-Set Studio Experience
- Shadow and assist the DP on shoot days
- Help manage gear, prep sets, and assist with lighting or grip as needed
- Be a flexible, reliable extra set of hands
What We're Looking For
- A self-starter who’s curious, proactive, and eager to learn
- Highly organized, communicative, and responsive
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Interest in production, camera gear, lighting, production design, social media strategy, or photo/video editing is a plus
- Must be based in the DMV area and able to travel locally as needed; reliable transportation is required (many shoot locations are not metro-accessible)
What You'll Gain
This internship is unpaid, but we’re committed to making it meaningful. You’ll gain real-world production experience, direct mentorship from working creatives, and hands-on involvement in building a growing creative agency, both behind the scenes and online. For the right intern, this role offers a clear pathway toward deeper involvement in Torch’s social media strategy and long-term leadership of that division.
